Whispering Ice not working with Cast While Channeling 5 link in 6Gem staff

I get cannot cast Icestorm only if I remove CWC Support gem and I have also tried one without being corrupted and just a bought one from the vendor.
It comes with can't cast. See pictures below. This is confusing... You're supporting Ice Storm with CWC, of course you can't cast it directly... that's the entire point of CWC. It will cast when you channel Cyclone.
Edit: OK, I might interpret your post (which is quite confusingly written) as you saying that removing CWC from the links altogether, inactivates Ice Storm? When I removed CWC I could use the Icestorm again.
