Pantheon question

In standard, one of my characters progressed in his pantheon by killing a boss with a divine vessel in place. After the map, I left the vessel in the map device and changed characters for the next map. I noticed the divine vessel and the second character took it out. He had already completed all of his pantheon. Now the full vessel is in his inventory and cannot go anywhere else.

Is there any way to return the vessel to the character that earned it so he can get credit? It was a T15 map that I would rather not have to re run.

I've tried putting it my stash, in the map device, giving it to Sin; nothing works. :(
