"Obtain Ritual Base Types" is very frustrating to complete.

Past leagues had problems with RNG challenges so I don't want to go into great details with explaining how frustrating these kind of challenges are to complete.

I actually felt that we finally got rid of them altogether because Harvest and Heist had none that were too bad but here we go again.

There are 27 new item bases (relevant to this challenge) in Ritual. Every single one of the 9 bases you need for the challenge also has two lower level variants that do not count. Not only that, but the bases appear in extremely rare cases as well. You're lucky to see one of the 27 bases in 15 maps, sometimes I see just 1 or 2 in a day of playing.

Added on top of the absurd RNG gating is the fact that you cannot share the completion of this challenge with other players. So you're, once again, left on your own and require good RNG to finish this challenge.

For some challenges the luck required is fine. For this one it is NOT. I have seen multiple people, myself included, who already complete 36 or more challenges and still struggle with this one.

Please include the lower drop level bases or make the bases appear more commonly in Ritual encounters or let us share the completion. Just anything to make this less annoying, frustrating and plain stupid to grind for.

While the amount of people with 36+ challenges still missing this one obviously points towards some miscalculation by GGG (probably something as simple as ignoring how relatively rare any single highest-level variant base in the game is, and the ones required for the challenge are massively double-gated on top of that)..... it is hilarious to think about how the real factor in making this specific challenge so elusive is that it can't be traded for in any form.

The real factor is that it's clearly bugged. There's no way they meant for this to be on par or even worse than the end game grinds.

There are 40/40 players. I had a look at a few players with a high number of challenges and they are all missing different ritual base types. There wasn't any consistency here.

Challenges can also be misleading. I could spend a couple of hours and a few exalts and hit 36, without necessarily progressing certain challenges such as the ritual base types challenge. I could also speed run maps straight to the boss to complete the maven boss witness challenge and skip ritual completely.

Making it find X out of Y bases would be a welcome change, but I'm not convinced that it is bugged.

Edit: All things considered, from my perspective this looks to be a really easy league to get 40/40.

I think the biggest flaw is that the low droplevel bases can spawn in encounters during maps. Add to that the high rarity of these bases appearing it is just too much luck required to be enjoyable.

is the challenge bugged? i have 1/9 and i run hundreds of rituals.

We can only theorize if it is bugged. It is weird though. I have talked to a few people about this and it seems like I always get the same bases those people still need and they get the ones I still need. For example I was in a call with a friend and we played for a few hours. He got a base that I am missing more than three times and I got one he is missing a few times as well.

Other than that, these bases are super rare anyway. You're lucky to get even one of those that count in 30 maps, even with re-rolling. Using vessels does not appear to impact this. It may even reduce the chances.

This is the worst (as in implemented) challenge on the list imo.

It's not fun, rewarding or something I look forward to completing.

I'm just checking every ritual and rerolling specifically for the two challenge items I still need; I don't even really care about the rest of the favours at this point.

I feel like it should be a 'find 7 out of 9' kind of challenge.
