Desecrate and Detonate/Volatile Dead with Spellslinger Trigger Order

It seems like these 3 spells are not quite functioning together as intended when used in combination with Spellslinger.
Barrage is the trigger spell in this case. Desecrate is linked with Spellslinger, and so are Detonate or Volatile Dead (on a different Gem link).
When casting the trigger for the first time it places down Desecrate and Explodes the corpses in one go, like you would think. But when casting subsequent times in close proximity at different angles, the Detonate/Volatile Dead spell seems to target corpses created by previous Desecrates no where near the cursor. Even with corpse targeting on.
This results in, when switching targets, just throwing a Desecrate at their feet and having to cast another trigger to explode the corpses.
It feels like the timing from the detonate spells are a bit off. Desecrate should have a higher weighting followed by the detonations so they dont have to go searching around for existing corpses elsewhere.

I tested it a bit more and it seems like the trigger orders from armor slots and gems makes no difference. It looks like the spell cascading for VD/DD is just all over the place. The closer your cursor moves to your character while casting, the more free will it seems to get. It can be seen fairly well in these pictures with the red outlines from Volatile Dead.
I dont know if this is meant to happen, I am fairly new, but it sure feels clunky and unresponsive to me..
