Low headphone audio even after closing POE and restarting

2 Part Bug

Part 1)
If I plug in my headphones after I start the game the sound will continue to play out of my speakers unless I do the following in order.

1) Change Playback device from Headphones to Speakers in windows
2) Then reverse the change and select Headphones again in windows
3) Then change the audio output in POE to headphones

No other order works, changing back and forth output in POE does nothing without doing the first two steps in windows.

Of note:
* When I plug my headphones in windows normally changes the output to headphones and any other program switches over to using headphones as output.
*If I plug in my headphones before starting POE the it uses the headphones as output as expected

Part 2)
The sound in POE is very low when using headphones, now I have the same problem even when POE is closed and I have restarted my computer.
Usually with headphones I set the output at 8 (in windows.) In POE I have to set it to 40.
After using my headphones with POE the change in loudness persists in every program even after restarting the computer, but only for headphones, speaker output is the same.

Things I have checked:
1) Using the headphones on another computer/devices: They work the same as before
2) Checked Volume mixer in windows, levels are all normal.
3) Tried "Spatial Sound" option on and off. No change.
4) Unplugging and re-plugging the headphones. No change.
5) "Troubleshoot" button in windows (lol) no change.
6) Disabled Enhancements in windows sound settings, then tried every combination: did not return to normal loudness.
7)Enabled/disabled spatial sound: No change.


Not sure what to do next.

Reinstalling realtek drivers fixes it. However running POE creates the same bug again.

For now only thing I can do is reinstall drivers each time I play POE with headphones.
