Help with summoner shield

What is the best shield for a pure summoner? Any unique good or rare is better?

I'm not planning going Necromantic aegis.

It really depends on what you are going for with your build.



I am using this one because 40 to all resists plus the chaos (and a tad of health) helps immensely for my current build and allows me to spend points in other areas and not look for max resists on other pieces of equipment (though I still need some fire res on my boots or gloves).

If you're not going for aegis, you generally want an Archon or similar that offers chaos res and lots of life. Anything beyond that is pretty much window dressing - it's all about making sure you survive longer. Matua isn't bad either (although putting your spectres in there is a gigantic waste of potential), but you're probably better off with something with life.
