ritual tribute not enough to defer some items

im currently running a map, i completed all 3 rituals and there is an ex that i cant even defer after getting all the tribute and spending no points at all, this sucks ass and should be fixed

The whole ritual mechanic is like a Chuck E Cheese ticket dispenser that randomizes how many tickets you win.

They show all of these top tier prizes, but the max number of tickets you get are less than required to get the top prize, so you're expected to "defer...or put on POE layaway", and hope that reduced price item reappears again.

What makes this even more carnivalesque is that when top tier items are shown, the number of points you win are noticeably reduced in comparison to when low tier prizes are shown.

Example:

Exalt appears for 5k.
4/4 rituals wins you.... 1.2K

Items that you would vendor if they dropped for 1k.
4/4 rituals wins you.... 3.5K

I have actually completed a ritual and amassed a whopping 20 points.

Remember, defer... defer...defer... chase the carrot and hopefully it will be reachable.

But remember, defer just adds more to your "prize table", so the odds lessen per item when you defer something new.

Rerolling the prize pool is costly because you spend points to get new items and those items could be top tier, but now you don't have enough points to even defer them.

Not too mention, the unused points in that area/zone are gone forever.

Ritual = Carrot and Stick.

I think you have missed the point.

DontKillTeal clearly says: he can't even Defer the item he wants because insufficient amount of tribute!

It is just happened with me aswell 10 minutes ago.
I wanted an item Ritual 2/2 and I can not even Defer it! I did not touch any other item I wanted that one!

Same here just missed ryslatha's coil because i got 1000 tribute from 2/2 rituals and needed 2.5k to defer IT. Sucks
