First Kitava fight and -60% resistance, except chaos ?

Hi,

I am at act 6, after the first Kitava fight.

Without any items, the character screen shows me at fire/cold/lightning resistance -25% and chaos -30%

I have two passive skills that give me +35% resistance:
Cruel Preparation = +5%
Commander auf Darkness (Nercromancer) = +30%

This means that I have a resistance penalty at fire/lightning/cold of -60% after the first fight?

I thought that the first penalty is -30%, just like the -30% Chaos resistance I have.

I´m wrong or I miss something?

I haven't played necros in a long time, but the above is what the wiki says about Commander of Darkness. You need to be affected by your own aura. This means it won't work in town.

Can confirm that Commander of Darkness doesn't work in town.

I was in town and planned my items/crafts for a capped resistance.

In general, when testing passively (i.e. combat not needed) you will want to be in your hideout.

I always league start necro and use the same node. It is as they say, Commander of Darkness is best tested in your hideout so your aura is active.

That said, I usually take that as my third asscendancy. I tackle the lvl 68 lab just before kitava Act 10, so Commander of Darkness comes online while I'm arleady geard with 75% res under -30% without it. It counters the -60% curse and I just take my existing loadout straight into mapping without needing to reshuffle.

You don't need any aura skill, but the res itself is coded as aura, so that it won't appear in town
