Occultist's Malediction nerf (look at what they did to my girl)

Occultist has long been used as a curse bot or as a Cold DoT witch. Recently we got some curse support so they can do some damage based on curses. For non-Chaos skills, Malediction has been the core for some Occultists.

Malediction can be currently interpreted as following:

When you Kill an Enemy, for each Curse on that Enemy, gain 8% of Non-Chaos Damage as extra Chaos Damage for 4 seconds
You can apply an additional Curse
15% increased Effect of your Curses
Enemies you Curse have Malediction (10% reduced Damage Dealt; 10% increased Damage Taken)

At the Echoes of the Atlas trailer, Occultist was one of the ascendancies featured as a rework. I really loved the ascendancy tree rework as it made it much more accessible, but why is GGG removing the non-chaos as added chaos when we kill a cursed enemy? This was such a wonderful potential to use lots of curses to get decent damage with skills other than Chaos and Cold DoT skills!
