Why does nobody take +30 Strength nodes for health?

I wonder why people always go to the health passives, but don't take +30 Strength which is +15 life and +6% physical damage. Physical damage is not needed for spells but is +15 base life not good enough for 1 passive point? And if you use physical damage then it is such a good deal. But nobody takes it when it is right here and everyone goes to far away Constitution cluster.

Simplified answere:

Its not worth it ;)

6% inc dmg isnt worth it, because you are shooting for a total of 400-500% inc dmg anyways. So 6% is nothing.

15 flat life isnt worth it, because %life scales so much better.
As an example: If you had 1k flat life (gear + lvl) and 15 flat life from a +30 str node, you end up with 1015 life.
If you went for 20% inc life cluster instead, you would end up with 1200 life.

Thats why most builds are aiming for 180%+ inc life from tree and gear.
If you had that and the above mentioned 1k flat life, you would end up with 1k flat + 180% = 1k + 1.8k = 2.8k total life

Thats why 15 flat life arent worth in the great scheme of things.
Because from min-maxing point of view it's less efficient.
"Bare" 5% HP nodes bring higher increase and cluster ends up with 8-10% node.
4% nodes also provide higher gains and are usually hybrid combined with a perk, cluster completion is up to 6-8%.
Some hybrid HP clusters also contain str component in addition.

It's not that picking str notables is bad, but it's the less efficient choice in a game revolving around extreme min-maxing.

My main point is that you don't need to travel for it.
I will use it as buffer for now and regret it when I am ready to reach constitution or something else big that are far away. As they say 15 life is 15 life.

in some builds it may be worthwhile, specifically strength stacking builds since they get more bang for their buck. I honestly can’t remember the Shapers Touch changes, but that might still be feasible. However, as everyone else specified it just isn’t worth it in most cases.

If you have 500% increased physical damage, then another 6% is only 1% more, and often you get much higher than 500%. If you have 1500 flat life with 180% increased life, then 15 life nets +42 additional life whereas 5% nets 75. It’s really a balancing act here.
