Summon skitter bots reserves different amounts of mana in different items

If i put summon skitterbots in my helm or body armor it reserves less manage than if i place it in my bow (darkscorn assasin bow)

Did you try reading the other skill gems that its linked to, which have mana multipliers? If you place it in your bow, linked to second wind support, it has a 125% mana multiplier and will reserve more mana.
If its socketed in your helmet, there are no multipliers. If you socket it in your chest, there are no mana multipliers (Withering Touch does not support / impact summon skitterbots). You can check whether a support gem with a mana multiplier will affect an aura/skill by hovering over the support gem whilst the aura/skill is socketed. |

in addition, in your bow, you don't need 2 second winds. highest level takes priority (gem quality doesn't matter for this.)

2nd second wind is just leveling. I had an empty slot. Was going to corrupt it when it gets to 20/20.
