Question related to Arc spell

I'm running an arc based character and I do not know if it worth to craft lightning damage to attacks on one of my rings (I mean does it apply to the damage of the Arc spell or not)?

Also one of my staffs has this implicit: Adds 3 to 59 lightning damage. Does this apply to the Arc damage?

Thanks!

Anything that says "attack" doesn't apply to Arc because it's a spell.
If a ring says "Adds x - y lightning damage" that gives it to both attacks and spells.
Elemental damage on weapons has to say "to spells" for it to apply
Please note that the "add x-y damage on ring refers to both spells and attacks":

Rather than craft a +x-y lightning damage (to attacks) on rings, you may want to craft a generic "+x% damage" (Leo metamod modifier) or a "+x% lightning damage" if your arc is focused only on that type of damage.
Thank you for the responses!

I do have another question: the increased elemental damage with attack skills modifier does affect Arc damage, right?

again, no, because arc is a SPELL, not an attack.

this is why gem tags are important:

bane here, has a 'spell' tag.

shield charge has the 'attack' tag.

a support like Faster Attacks, will only work with a gem that has the attack tag. A spell would need Faster Casting support.
