Fossil Crafting Odds - Need help to understand my bad (?) luck

Im trying to craft a rather expensive large Cluster Jewel

- Vengeful Commander
- Blanketed Snow
and either one of
- Disorienting Display
- Doryani´s Lesson
- Widespread Destruction

According to Craft of Exil, a Large Cluster Jewel with ilvl 68 has a ~of 8 tries with
- Bound - Prismatic - Serrated -
at 65.5% Confidence

51 Tries and I havent hit anything yet

The prices on Sale kinda reflect that but isnt ~8 with 60% a way higher rate?

In my mind I thought in about 36 tries I should be able to hit one.
8 Tries with that Confidence feels so much easier then an Explody Chest roll which I hit twice in around 30-40 this league.

Am I just unlucky, is this in line with the odds or am I just understanding them wrong?

You didn't set it up right.
Two checks in the same column mean that either mod can appear.
Two checks in different column means that both mods must appear.

If you want blanketed snow and vengeful commander as prefix, you have to check them in different columns.

It's not surprising you didn't hit both prefixes, since the odds are rather low.

The difference between AND and OR can often be quite expensive.

@hasunic u can use lower ilvl to exclude some mods


@op u also use the wrong fossil combo, cause of your miscalculation. i would check the prices on the market for such jewels. often it shows how hard to craft/get those jewels.
