Dictator's Vaal Axe - how to proceed?

So yesterday I rolled dictators on my 30% quality, physical modifiers have increased effect axe.

How do I proceed now to create a good phys dps weapon?
Regal it directly and then multimod or aug and then regal?
Which mods do I look for when I regal/aug?

Any help is appreciated :-)

Consider grabbing some split beasts and making some copies to fall back on.

Edit: first you'll want to imprint

split or imprint beasts, whichever is cheaper.


you 100% want to aug before you regal. your augment can only hit a suffix. getting Attack Speed would be very good.

then you regal, hoping for any high tier:
flat phys
%phys
attack speed


multimod can only add 2 additional mods, and you really need all 3 of the above to have a really good axe. so using both aug and regal gives the most chances to get one of those dps mods.


after you get one, then you multimod and craft the missing 2. youll end up with something like
