Dex based guard skills?

Nothing really exists to fill that gap. I've seen people say "dash is the dex guard skill", basically dex guard skills are 'dont get hit'.

I'd like to see something in there to fill that gap, maybe like Vaal Grace but without the Vaal limitation.

Or just straight steal the Stagger mechanic from World of Warcraft monks -- incoming flat damage is converted to a stacking Damage over time effect. Should edit:NOT be classified as a bleed/poison that can just be nulled out with certain items.

Personally I really like the Stagger mechanic, its whole purpose is smoothing out incoming damage, and spikiness is... well I don't find it fun going from 100 to 0 in a fraction of a second.

You do realize how brokenly op that stagger mechanic would be right? Even in wow brewmasters were the tankiest of tanks because of that mechanic.

So you already play this character that avoids damage most of the time with evasion/dodge, and on top of that you want to add a stagger that guarantees your survival...

i wouldnt mind such a hit dmg into dmg over time skill, however should the total dmg over time be higher than the hit and not removeable
The simplest way would be to copy/paste molten shell and base it off flat evasion instead. Tweak numbers here and there and voila: dex guard skill.

And perhaps instead of actually granting a damage reduction shield, keep it in line with the theme and grant dodge/spell dodge.
We miss you, bald man.

I can't believe there is no combination of numbers that would result in a balanced implementation.

Because there isn't.

In path of exile you have to be a moron to die to dot damage. So either the dot is too soft and you can just out regen/leech it or even logout macro, or the damage is too high to react to it and therefore the purpose of adding this stagger is defeated

"No one ever dies to dot mechanics" seems to be the core of your argument.

Or you have no idea what you are talking about, when you have 60% reduced life recovery rate mod that scales with Awakener bonus.

Yes. It was sort of hinted when I said you have to be a moron to die to dot damage. The reason why ggg added so many "1 shots" in the first place was because that's the only way they could get any remotely decent players to die at all
