Testing Eldricht Battery with Emperor's Vigilance blocked hits bypass ES suspection

Someone can test or help me how to test if Eldricht Battery with Emperor's Vigilance is working correctly? As SSF Trickster with 72/75/72 block i never saw my ES drop even with above 2k single hit to my HP. I dont have evasion/ghost shroud or ES leech so big that i can miss dip in ES due to fast ES gain.
I even tried on some solo slow strong attack bosses/uniques but always without ES change.
Maybe they bugged it during divine flesh fix?

Eldritch Battery causes your Energy Shield to protect Mana instead of Life, so the only way your ES can take damage for you is if you have damage taken from Mana before Life (Mind over Matter-like effects). You don't, so blocked damage isn't "bypassing" ES, it's not going anywhere near your ES because your ES isn't protecting your Life.

I think you missed item description.

Damage from Unblocked hits always bypasses Energy Shield
Glancing Blows

There is no line about energy shield protecting Life or Mana condition, only statement about blocked hits cant bypass ES.

It doesn't bypass Energy Shield because there's no Energy Shield to bypass when you take hit to your life. If you took hit to your mana (using Mind over Matter for example) then that part of the damage would not bypass energy shield and your ES would take damage instead of your mana.

tl;dr:

"Damage bypass energy shield" will only work if the pool protected from ES should be damaged.

Long way:

Energy Shield, by default, protects Life. This means that any non-chaos damage, by default, will first attempt to deplete your ES. If your ES is not high enough to take the full damage or you don't have energy shield, then the part not protected by ES will remove life.

While under a Mind over Matter environment, damage to your life will partly consume Mana. Of course, this only applies if your life is actually removed from damage - if a hit or a DoT can be fully covered by your ES, then your mana will not be depleted. This is mostly why it's useless to use both Chaos Inoculation and MoM - MoM will never work, because life will never be damaged (and, if it is, well, you are dead)

When using Eldritch Battery, "Energy Shield protects mana instead". This drastically changes Energy Shield behavior: now your damage will be fully applied to your life, since your Energy Shield is no longer protecting it. On the other hand, if your mana should be damaged (Mind over Matter, Ivory Tower, Crusader's Lightning Rune skills...), then your Energy Shield will be damaged and, if it's not high enough or you don't have ES, will damage your mana.

Bear in mind the Chaos rule: Chaos damage should always bypass Energy Shield, so even in MoM Eldritch Battery can't help you against, say, Poison damage

Emperor's Vigilance effect still respect the last thing I've said: if something "always bypasses" Energy Shield, then it will always bypass it, no matter if the damage is blocked or not

3.12 Patch actually corrected how Emperor's Vigilance interacted with Divine Flesh - now Divine Flesh takes precedence over Emperor's Vigilance, as it should with any other damage that always bypass ES.
