T1 Volcano Map Bonus Boss

I'm new to the game so forgive me if I have missed something, but having reached the map stage I've been running the T1 Volcano map and keep killing a Totemtic Boss like creature, which should qualify for the Boss tick bonus option on the map but it isnt completing.

are you turning the map 'magic' with an
first? For map BONUS, you have to run the map at a certain rarity, based on the map color. White maps (tier 1-5) need to be magic Yellow maps (6-10) need to be rare, you'll use an orb of alchemy for this Red maps (11 - 16) need to be rare AND then corrupted with a vaal orb. be careful, because the vaal orb can drastically change your map |
