Lack of Intelligence based Fire spells?

Maybe I'm wrong here and maybe it has already been posted on, but it seems to me there's an obvious lack of fire spells for the basic witch. I'm counting like 5-6 intelligence based ice skills and about 4 lightning, but only 2 fire, what gives? Both fireball and firestorm are very strong but it'd be nice to see some utility or something that was fire based. I feel like by the end difficulty my fire witch won't even be able to cope. Thoughts?

I think there's a general lack of skills period. Sure there are lots of different skill gems, but for melee classes those skill gems are often limited by the type of weapon you have equipped and with no quick way to weapon switch yet (unless I've missed something) it's not viable to have skill gems outside your weapon on your character (aside from just to level them).

For example, outside of buffs/debuffs/auras/utility skills, my marauder only uses 2 different attack skills, one for single target and one for multi-target.

But I can also see a reason behind it, you can bind to QWERT and the 3 primary mouse buttons, if each class had 5-6 attack skills before buffs or curses or anything, you would constantly have to manually switch the equipped skills to buff or throw around curses while having access to all your attack skills.

I think the most lacking thing in PoE as it stands right now (aside from more acts and content in general), is there is no quick and easy way to change keybinds on the fly. In D2 for example you only had 2 binds, left and right click, but you could change those on the fly using keyboard binds by assigning a specific skill to a specific key. Then games like WoW and other MMOs often allow modifiers of some form (mostly with macros) that change what skill is used. And you can also have multiple "pages" of skill bars that can easily be switched to and from, allowing you to preset multiple action/skill bars, and switch to the ones you need with the press of a button or two.

I think it would be cool if PoE could implement a sort of D2-style skill switching, allowing F1-F8 (and more if desired) to rebind skills in specific slots on the fly. For example, I would be able to bind F1 to Heavy Strike in Mouse Button 1, and F2 to Ground Slam in Mouse Button 1.....then I could bind Mouse Button 2 to something else entirely and use F1 and F2 to change my attack style on the fly.

And definitely allow these keys to be re-bindable so you aren't limited to using the function keys.

Then once something like that is implemented, add more attack skills in so we aren't filling our skill bars with attacks and having no room for utility skills.

After playing D3, the lack of skills in PoE becomes very clear.

You know they plan on adding dozens more skill gems before release, right? There's plenty more to come.

I'm sure they are. And the need for them to do so became very clear then I played D3.
Yeah I was also informed in game they're adding tons more gems. It'd be nice to see some more utility, especially some that isn't ice!

Yep. In D3, even at level 13 there is more variety than in PoE.
