Does Void Manipulation work with poisons?
Example: Using Void manipulation with reave and the hit with reave applies poison to the enemy. Does that poison benefit from the "Supported Skills deal (20-39)% more Chaos Damage"? Thank you!

Yes, per the wiki
The following modifiers will directly affect the damage of poison: Damage Damage over Time Damage over Time Multiplier Chaos Damage over Time Multiplier Chaos Damage Poison Damage Physical Damage (for poison caused by physical damage) |

Thank you! Another question came to me. What about "added chaos damage"? The wiki says that the poison is calculated as 20% of base damage of the hit. I'm taking that to mean after all "added" modifiers are applied. So I'm wondering if the "added" modifiers are added to poison itself, too.
Example:I did 100 base damage with 50 added chaos. That's 30 base poison. But would I then also add the 50 to that 30 to get 80 poison? Or only apply any multipliers at this point and not the additions? Thanks again. |

Poison comes from your base hit which is impacted by physical and chaos damage (base damage before modifiers) So, think of this way
You do 100 phys from a weapon. You have added chaos damage support that does 100 damage. You hit, and swing for 100 phys and 100 chaos before modifiers. At this point the damage splits. The poison is impacted by all the modifiers that impact poison (damage over time, chaos, poison damage). The hit itself is impacted by its own modifiers which may overlap, but dont apply twice (melee damage, one handed weapon damage, chaos damage on the chaos portion, phys damage on the phys portion). The poison is not calculated on the resulting ACTUAL hit, which has been buffed by your build, but it is calculated on the initial 200 damage hit, and then buffed by your build. Thats confusing as hell I know, but its how PoE works. It used to be easy to get to 100M damage by double dipping. %increased chaos damage applied to the hit but then also the poison, so it applied twice. No more. Thanks, I understand what you've said. But one thing you didn't answer is if the added damage gets added twice (to the attack and poison). Like, in your example, would the 100 added chaos get added to the poison (40 + 100 = 140 poison). Or would it be 40 with multipliers only? Thanks!

Added damage, sometimes called flat damage, DOES go into ailment calculations, poison, ignite, etc.

Added damage is caculate as your base damage
(Note attack and spell have a % damage effectivness resulting in doing less or more damage with added flat damage if it has 50% then 50 become 25 added damage) BUT Added damage doesn't double dip and directly affect your poison. If you have 100(base damage) + 50 added flat damage (physical or chaos damage) If your hit poison -> 30 damage. Now you have 30 Poison damage and 50 Added chaos damage Your poison do... 30 Poison damage. The 50 chaos damage already been added to the equation before. ----------------------------------------------- As someone else explain. Poison is base on your base damage. The Raw value before all the increase damage and multiplier you have on your hit. Then it calculated with whatever scale poison damage and not based on the total amount of damage your skill did. For example if your hit does 100 Raw base damage then you crit for 200% You do 200 damage but poison only for 20 damage because the raw value of your spell do 100 damage. Now if you have 100% poison damage "instead" You do 100 raw damage and 40 poison damage. *Note there a way to apply some crit multipler to poison via node or a unique flask* Last edited by milorius#5160 on Sep 18, 2020, 8:09:00 AM

Thanks, milorius, for the great answer! That's just what I wanted to know, if it double dipped like that. I expected it wouldn't but just wanted to be sure. Also great to know that crits arn't calculated for poisons. I'll definitely keep that in mind! This is my second ever build (first time with poison) so all this info is really useful.
