Ghost reaver with Vaal patc/vitality void/Gladiator's preseverance and Vile bastion question.

I'd really appreciate if you could help me a little bit about understanding some mechanics of the game.


I have a lvl 58 Witch which I use Ghost reaver with good ammount of energy shield(2.5K) and reached the duelist tree and got Vitality void and Vaal pact with Gladiator's perseverance (and the leech below this one)


I use cyclone and also have energy shield leech into the sockets, my life leech per second is 794.5/s and my ES leech is 415.5/s, so in total i have 1210/s of leech, and since I use Ghost reaver, it all goes into ES, however, I am an occultist and I do have, Vile bastion, and it seems like Vile bastion is actually giving me MORE ES than my total leech combined.


So I would like to understand why with EVERYTHING I have for life leech and vaal patch with Ghost reaver and ES leech, why is my ES leech so low/barely noticeable?

Vaal pact / Vitality Void / Perseverance don´t work with ES (it doesn´t effect recovery rate).
You can drop south tree.
You also need to deal significant amount of damage to have any relevant effect.

What build are you building? It´s quite rare to play an Occultist as melee.

my character is endlessly leeching,

so with what you sai all those passives and life leech are meaningless even with ghost reaver?

You can leech ES while having Ghost Reaver and Vitality Void allocated but it doesn´t effect maximum total recovery rate.
Yes it´s rather meaningless in endgame.
There are only a few nodes on the passive tree that will modify ES max leech rate (Light Eater, Ethereal feast).

If you want to improve your ES recovery I would try to get ES gained on hit / ES on block or both eventually (with ES leech via Ghost Reaver).
Vile Bastion is fine while killing monsters (not so good for bosses).
