Slow game startup going insane

EVER SINCE they added this daily deal ad my game startup is SO DAMN SLOW, I understand you want to advertise, but my game load time is so much slower now, the black screen that says loading... when it is updating daily deal because it uses patch server to do so I assume, since it hasnt connected through login yet. Just please let me turn off this laggy bootup Please

Anyone know a way I can disable the Ad ? any cool tips or tricks? I just want it OUT of the game load up , its ugly anyways

It isn't the daily deal. The "loading" screen has taken freaking 5 minutes from day 1 for me, long before they added it. Welcome to my party. :-P

Use this, add -gc 2 to the end of your poe shortcut
(Path of Exile\Client.exe" -gc 2) Your client should start up a lot faster, mine is almost instant with this. Might not work with everyone. New gaming generation reminds me of the 5 year olds crying and yelling at their parents in public stores when they don't get something they wanted.

" Correlation does not equal causation. Trust me, I've had slow startup always and I've seen others gripe about it too. When was the last time you deragged/cleaned temp files/registry/etc? defragged and all that junk day or 2 after it started, coorelation doesnt always mean causation but sometimes correlation points pretty close to the cause. I feel very confident it is the AD making it lag, my computer is definately fast enough to load way faster than this, and it was doing exactly that just fine, I built this rig and have good feel for its speeds, only explanation is that it is connecting to something for a second during that loading phase of game startup to update the daily deal it shows next to login spot, which is kinda upsetting to be honest, they cant have it just update in background while u play and have the file ready for the next startup before you close each time?

The game has booted up the same speed me for, given the inital long load time.
There is no way the ad changed this for you, or added more. No way. |

yea that long load time your referring to, my pc is fast, and I didnt get that load time like a week or 2 ago, was insanely fast from moment I double clicked shortcut link, to the moment it hit login screen, was very fast before this dont say "no way" unless you reallly know for sure, and have proof or any insight as to why it could not be the AD updating slowing me down Last edited by shadowexile2#1979 on Mar 26, 2013, 3:18:19 AM

" I'm on a gaming pc that plays every game I load up, on nigh max settings, at max fps. I get the long load time (only on inital boot) ever since I've played this game, both laptop and Desktop. The ad did nothing to change this. Same speed. No way your computer magically worked faster than mine, then the ad pissed it off and it changed. It wasn't the ad. Try to make an argument for how a simple ad could change that much. |
