Two-5 socket recipe not working on Loreweave. Item has fixed sockets

So I have a loreweave that I traded the 60 unique rings for. I had already saved up 50 and paid 5c for 10 more. Is there any way besides paying 150 fusing orbs to 5link it?at the crafting table the two three four and five socket recipes are red and it says item has fixed sockets which sucks because I also have a Jewellers touch prophecy. I am looking for the most cost-effective way so I can use a 5 link until late red maps when I will buy a six link. I have invested hardly anything into this except for time already and want to keep the cost down.

I'm a little confused about what you are asking. Loreweave should come with 6 sockets. Linking is a separate step. You should be able to 5-link it, then 6 link it later if you want. Linking does not affect the number of sockets. As far as I know, "Item has fixed sockets" refers to the number of sockets, not the number of links.

I'm not sure what will happen if you use Jeweller's Touch on it, since it creates both 5 sockets and 5 links. It might reduce the number of sockets from 6 to 5. I would not use that prophecy on it until you know for sure what will happen. It will also change the color of the sockets, so if you have a hard-to-get color combo, it might be difficult to get it back.

Jeweler's Touch wouldn't do anything at present. Have to be able to use a jewelers orb, which you can't do since it's 6s already.

Best way to link would be to just fuse until you 5l, and possibly get lucky with a 6l. Getting at least a 5l is usually very doable in under 150 fuses.

If you want to guarantee 5l, then you gotta bench craft it. Or you can break the 6s with bench, then Jeweler's Touch it for a 5l. You'll lose the 6s, but you can jeweler's orb it back to 6s later when you're ready to 6l. This would likely be the much cheaper way in the short term.

The chest was nerfed in 3.11.0 patch

Fixed a bug where items with a fixed number of sockets (such as Loreweave or Oni-Goroshi) could have the number of sockets reduced through the hideout crafting bench, but not increased. Now, the number (or, if the item specificies, colour) of sockets can no longer be affected by the crafting bench.
