Confused by all the ranger build options and need advice

I am not new to PoE but have been away from the game for quite some time, and still consider myself a beginner. My preference for the game is Bow Rangers. I have tried other classes but they just don't seem to resonate with me.

part of my build choice stress is I like the idea of the galvanic arrow but now sure how beginner/early game viable it is.

in terms of method of dealing damgage I prefer anything that results in me not getting hit (much) and prevents the mobs from getting close to me if possible whether that is from damage or crowd control.

could some one please help me with a choosing a build that ideally includes either galvanic arrow or some other primary attack gem that ideally can kill at least trash mobs before they can attack me>
