100% Phys to fire question

When you have a chieftain and 100 phys to fire conversion, is it better to use herald of purity or herald of ash?

Purity:

Grants (9-12)% more Physical Damage
(and free pets sometimes)

----------------

Ash:

Gain 15% of your Physical Damage as Extra Fire Damage
Base duration is 4 seconds
Base Burning Damage is 25% of Overkill Damage
(9-12)% more Spell Fire Damage
(0-38)% more Burning Damage

Figured one of you would know which works better, darn
I guess the few percent higher bonus on Ash makes it better unless you have other "gain x% physical as Y" bonuses from items, Hatred aura etc. (Or if you just like the minions)

Probably different for different builds.

Id plug it into PoB and use the higher one.
Cant imagine a case where herald of ash is not the better choice, it boosts your physical to fire more, and it boosts pure fire more obviously.

25% physical damage added as fire without herald of ash is the breakeven point for attack builds. If you have more than that purity starts to win, less and ash wins. Given things like Nebuloch, oni-goroshi, or even Nagahamu option in chieftan purity will be the go to for many attack builds.

Phys spells being converted to fire is where ash dominates though, and it does so in a landslide double-dipping on phys as fire and more fire spell dmg.
If were talking about attacks its herald of ash, unless you have like 20% + of phys as extra fire damage in which case it switches to purity.

For spells its herald of ash pretty much always lol
