About Unleash and "Shock"

Hi everyone, quick question about Unleash.

When you cast, does shock get applied during the cast or after?

Because if shock:

1) Doesn't get applied, then I should Elemental Focus support gem, as by the time my seals recharge, the shock would have worn off.

2) If it does get applied, then I should not use Elemental Focus to gain the added benefits of Shock.

I do understand that I could just proc Shock with Storm Brand, but I'm a bit lazy.

Shock should apply on the first hit and the next hits will profit of it.

Note that depending of your shock effect % increased and other stuff you have to do 100% of a monster life to applied a 50% (max) shock effect on a single hit.

around 17.8%(If I remember right) of their max life for a 25% shock effect.
Or 17.8% with 100% increase shock effect for 50% shock effect.

(Unless you have something forcing a minimum of course.)

Thanks! So after 1st hit, the subsequent seals will take benefit from the shock from 1st hit.

But like you mentioned, the chances of hitting a boss (or something worthy of being shocked) for over 17.8% in 1-shit for only a measily 25% of shock effect is almost impossible.

I guess that means shock doesn't really work...
