Einhar, what to do with him?

Hello,

I started POE after the bestiary league.
So far, I only capture monsters when Eihnar shows up, and use some recipe in the menagerie. I know we can also sell beast with orbs

Is there more to it?
the guides I found are about the bestiary league, therefore outdated

That's more or less everything. There are also 4 special beasts that open a portal (from the recipe) to a beast boss who drops a unique on death, you can find them in the PoE Wiki.
yes, I saw the bosses in the wiki

Flask crafting is pretty easy using the Einhar's bench.
You can also make league specific uniques using his recipes.
Einhar likes long walks on a beach.

Take him out on a date, you won't regret it.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.
ALso he is good chess player, I bet you can't beat him!!
he's good when leveling, he kills mobs for you, and you can take him into boss fights, but later on i almost never use him to craft anything
Aspects can be a nice way to round up a build. Aspect of the Spider, Avian or Cat are great buffs for 25% reserved mana imo.
you can walk through your menagerie and look at the monsters you have captured. most players do it twice a day because it's so much fun.

Hmm... after ExileCon I'd say relegate him to the "actor desperately seeking a paying gig" home but he did a decent job to start the Chris keynote and I actually enjoyed the ExileCon opening bit. Too bad it went downhill from there.

But seriously, Einhar is stuck in the same "rock and hard place" position that so many challenge league mechanics that went into the core are in and that being the "must do tons of maps with him to get any useful recipes". But that is the same problem that so many other challenge league mechanics gone core have suffered. GGG can't include every challenge league mechanic in the core (PoE is already too huge to fit into 8 GB of ram and multi-gigabyte patches are the norm) so unless GGG is willing to upgrade his beast rewards (not gonna happen as global warming makes a certain place that needs to freeze first even more unlikely) he needs to be shelved.

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.
