OBS & Vulkan Conflict
Hello
Hopefully this is the right place for this, but tried to stream path of exile with vulkan and encountered an issue with obs that didn't happen when using dx11 only when using vulkan. So inside obs i'm using a display capture and have the game running in winnowed boarderless because i can switch between monitors easy by moving my mouse seamlessly to my other monitor. However when using vulkan and when i go to my second monitor and click around over their the display capture goes black and then shows the game again every time i switch between monitors. This does not happen when in dx11 Last bumped on Oct 13, 2020, 4:39:01 PM

for me it was to update obs to 25.0.8 to solve the issue. i had an older version of obs (23 something).

Exactly this issue, I tried switching back to DX11 and I can use Game Capture perfectly fine but as soon as I switch to Vulkan, it freezes in OBS and it only captures the game when it's alt-tabbed.
As someone who streams, I hope this issue gets resolved with the release of 3.11. P.S: I have OBS.live version 25.0.8 (64bit) |

Hey there,
wanted to stream Harvest when it comes out, so I tried setting everything up beforehand. Had troubles capturing the game using Game Capture with Vulkan on. I dont know if any of you have tried starting OBS and PoE as Admin, but that fixed the whole issue for me, no Freezes no Blackscreens etc. Edit: I do have stuttering/freezes of my streamed Screen though, which quite a few people have been reporting already. " I figured it out! With the OBS Update 25 they made Game Capture separate from Window Capture, Just select Game Capture and it should work, I had the same issue and it fixed it for me. Now there's another problem tho, the Cursor is invisible :/ |

Same problem with mine. Has anybody found a solution already?

You need to have OBS Studio updated to at least version 25.0 (preferably fully updated) to display Vulkan games.
Steam (if you use the Steam release), OBS, AND Path of Exile (ONLY IF you use the Standalone client) must be ran with Administrator privileges ON the account you are currently using. If you have a local account, you are in for a bad time (No custom filters) - and this has been tested locally. Last edited by bvanharjr#5617 on Jun 18, 2020, 2:49:52 AM

Hi guys
I know this is a bit old but i have a problem related or similar to this, when i do stream in vulkan the stream just lags, the game is fine. If i put directX11 doesnt happen but the game is not as smooth as it is with vulkan, is there any solution for that? im actually using obs last version with nvec codecs streaming at 720p/60fps, pc spects SLI 1080 and i7 6700K game is in SSD. I guess is vulkan being in beta an all that but i would like to play and streaming using vulkan because its much better performance overall. Thx in advance! |
