RAM Disks and PoE

Hi there.

Is there a way to "instruct (guide, force, whatever ...)" PoE to put ONLY Shadder cache files on a RAM Disk?

Actually PoE running in SATA Disks has a very poor performance in loading times, probably because of this kind of cache.

And ... I DON'T WANT TO BUY A SSD DISK TO PLAY PoE because PoE is the ONLY game that I play that is suffering with high loading access on HD.

Well the simple answer is "no".

Just get the SSD if you want to play PoE.

Unless you are playing PoE and games predating past half a decade, there is no way in hell you are experiencing long load times just with this game.
You are basically losing out on highest price/ performance piece of hardware you can get your hands on.

And as for PoE it self, you don't get to moan about bad performance if you are using a mechanical disk drive because it's basically a requirement to have an ssd.
No rest for the wicked.

I played many Years on laptop Lenovo G50-45 with CPU A 6310 and SATA and played smoothly but on low settings etc. SATA has nothing to this...
🌞 Designer of SimpleFilter just follow it 🌞
🌞 I treat PoE as an art 🌞

You can try to use a ramdisk, there's no harm done in trying :)
I've done it but as i have a ssd, it was more an experiment.

I don't think you'll see much improvement. POE's problem for SATA disks is loading its assets from the big .GGPK file (you can try the GGPK defragmenter if you don't use poe from steam, it can reduce the file size a lot

If you still want to try a ramdisk, follow these steps :

1. Download a ramdisk software.
2. Create a ramdisk on a chosen letter.
3. In the ramdisk, create directories corresponding to the ones you want to replace
4. For each directory you want to replace, add symbolic links in POE directory, pointing to the ones in the ramdisk (https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/)
5. Don't forget that the ramdisk will be lost when shutting down your computer.

YES PoE is THE ONLY GAME THAT I PLAY BOTH IN MY DELL NOTEBOOK AND DESKTOP THAT MAKES EXTREME ACCESS IN HD!

I have D3, Need For Speeds, Street Fighters, Batmans, LOST PLANET, SWTOR and many others games that makes intense access on HD, BUT NOT THE WAY POE DOES!

This game seems to have constantly recreating things caching to HD and this is very ANNOYING, IRRITATING. All the time, entering a map, going to town, delving .. ALWAYS caching or whatever that indicates poor thread programming!

then it's good that a SSD is super cheap and easy to replace in your notebook + pc.
