How to end Drox bobble phase
|
So I have done some search but still can't find what exactly is the mechanic of that Drox bobble mid-phase. SO there are two "solution" that suggested so far:
1: nuke it, I am pro, I have DPS 2: wait for it, just wait. Also I found a lot of complaining on "fixing drox won't stop channeling" bug report. So I got a little bit confused, is it truly bugged (until this point I do fought drox few times this league and I do experience a very long mid-phase last time) or just "you are not playing a popular bd, you suck you should delete the game loser"? Do anyone know what exatly is bobble phase mechanics? |

You have to keep assaulting him.
The "Bubble Phase" starts when Drox drops approximatively at 50% HP. During this phase, Drox becomes highly resistant but not invulnerable (Drox CAN become invulnerable, though, if he stands near one of his banners), and will start calling minion from the other 4 portals in the area. The idea behind the Bubble Phase is to give players a chance to cut down as many banners as possible in order to weak Drox enough before he starts spamming them again after the Bubble Phase is over. You have to literally siege him, because of his high resistance, but after you reach a certain threshold (not sure on the % of health), he will stop - no "wait for it" will make him abort this phase, only damage. It's not technically a DPS check like Elder's portal phases, because lacking DPS will not bar you from a phase of that battle (in Elder's case, the Unstable Phase because you are not fast/strong enough to protect the Shaper). For Drox, having low DPS only means you will not take "5 minutes" to down Drox in the bubble phase, but rather half an hour or so, of course without ever stop hitting him in order to not let him recharge his ES. But, as long you keep hitting, eventually you will get that Phase to end. What is bugged - or at least it is for me since 3.9 - is that Drox will keep the "bubble" on him even after the bubble phase is over, and will keep it until you leave and re-enter the arena. This is purely a cosmetic bug - Drox is as vulnerable as he is outside the bubble phase Last edited by Maxtrux#0762 on May 13, 2020, 3:29:02 AM

" This is the first reply I found clarifying, Thanks a lot!!! (while waiting/searching for a reply I got DCed and lost my last Drox citadel somehow, I was waiting at his doorway, but at least I got an answer) |

" At one point I did some testing, where I simply killed banners and adds during his bubble phase, and did no damage to him, just waiting to see how long it took him to come out of his bubble. He did eventually come out - although it usually took several minutes. Of course it may be with changes to the fight that this is no longer true. |

" Hmm... I did had my good shares of Drox battles back in 3.9, when I managed to finally kill a T16 Drox at my 11th attempt. I know his battle was changed a bit (for instance, Patch Notes states Drox no longer gets true invulnerability while under a Banner's influence, though I guess it gets more evident with a 1M+ DPS build, which I don't have). I remember very long bubble phases - 30 minutes whittling away his resistances while avoiding all of the mobs he summons). Perhaps if I waited even longer I could have hit a "timeout" threshold. However, it would have made way much sense if he burst out from his bubble if you manage to kill all his minions during this phase - they are many, but a finite number for sure. Do you remember, GreyLensman, if this is the case? Of course you would have had to kill those minions or that arena would be way too crowded for even move, but may it be that the moment you killed the last minion was also the moment Drox broke out from his bubble phase? If such is the case, that would be indeed another way to break a bubble phase - even if obscenely lenghty to achieve. |

" A few times I was pretty sure I killed all his minions and he didn't un-bubble. But it's almost impossible to be sure given the size of the arena. Yes, it's definitely changed a lot. It never took me longer than about 5 minutes to get him down, but I also didn't fight him in the first couple weeks of 3.9. This league, with a BV Assassin, I can burn through the bubble in no time. Some of that is probably changes to him, but the higher dps definitely makes a difference. |

" Indeed, Bubble's resistance does not compare from the 3.9 - or, well, we the players became more acquainted to him and/or got stronger DPS since Metamorph. My first attempts in beating Drox were a true endeavor because of the low DPS - nowadays 5 minutes is a way more than enough time to blaze through him. As stated before, it all boils down to DPS, but without being a real DPS check. If you lack DPS you just... take more time to kill him, and that's it. There is no Regenerating, no time limit to beat Drox. Just an annoying brick wall to tear down |
