Jewels for empty passive slots

I have been rewarded jewels to go into empty slots via quests/pickups but I can put over the empty slot but it won’t accept the confirmation of slotting as it would allow me to do for a normal skill
Point allocation so I’m stuck with these jewels that can’t be used but are important skills I could do with. Also the crafting table is not allowing me to use, keeps providing me error
Messages. Also how do acquire yellow creatures for menagerie, this game has a lot of things that could prove useful but I can’t make the most of them. Are these loose ends in game that are no longer available as old editors to game or just bugs that need attending to? I’m really enjoying this game, would be great to have these issues fixed.

well you havent provided any useful information at all. Its hard to understand what your problems are, but the most likely explanation is that you have no idea what you are doing..

people here will surely help you, please provide information about your character (what level you are, what league, what content you are facing etc) and also some information about your issues, most importantly 1) what are you trying to do 2) what do you expect to happen 3) what actually happens

The jewels go to your skill tree, not equipment. Costs 1 skill point to get the slot as you'd normally get anything else on the tree.
Not sure what you mean with the crafting table.

You just need to find area with beasts that Einhar will capture for you when they're low enough

After you meet/rescue Helena in Act 2, she should give you a quest to test an item in the crafting bench. Once you do this, you should have access to a few recipes she gives you initially, and more later as you find new ones during acts, delve and syndicate encounters.

Einhar encounters/missions normally have one red beast and 3-5 yellow beasts.

PoE is a very complex game with limited documentation. Everything in the game has a purpose. (And there are certainly some bugs, since the game is pretty much in constant beta mode with it's quarterly league cycle.)

You should consult the wiki and also check out the intro videos by Engineering Eternity. That will scratch the surface... there is much more.

I am trying to place the jewel into skill tree, it automatically places into empty slots but when it’s says press a to allocate, it simply doesn’t work. I have no issue at allocating a skill slot, just placing a given jewel.

I’m new and already level 30 in just a few days, it’s not rocket science...put jewel in place and press a to allocate. Jewel won’t go in.

As for crafting table, i put required item in and choose what I want but nothing will craft. It had level 12 options when I was at level 29....doesn’t seem to be updating based on me.

I can’t catch yellow animals, apparently there used to be nets to this game but not for the new players who installed recently?

is it possible that you havent allocated a skill point in the gem slot on your skill tree to activate it, which then enables you to add a jewel to the socket?
Also note that the "Cluster jewels" will only work on the jewel slots around the edges of the skill tree.

As for the crafting bench, it depends on the item and how many mods is has on it already, the items level also has influence with what you can craft on it.

The nets aren't a thing anymore.
You capture beasts by weakening them enough (damage them) and then einhar comes and catches them for you.

You find new crafting recipes, it does not automatically update.

What do you mean with pressing A to allocate?
There is no option in the skilltree with that key.

You skill the socket like a normal skill in the tree and then you pop the jewel into it. Thats it. The jewel will or will not be active, that depends on the type of jewel and his requirements (with atleast xx dexterity in radius you gain xxx bonuses as example)

The crafting table needs currency. Everytime you load into a area (hideout, city) you need to either empty your inventory from all currency or you move a random currency from your stash to your inventory and back. Then you can craft on the crafting table without the need to have the proper currency in your inventory (that is mostly a bug, happends every league start) You still need the amount of currency in your stash though.
