Does Smite the Weak have an effect on minions?

I have my minion skill, dominating blow linked with maim support.

I was wondering if the notable Smite the weak would have any effect on the minions chance to maim or damage done to maimed enemies?

Notable description:

Attacks have 10% chance to Maim on Hit
40% increased Attack Damage against Maimed Enemies

Nope. For your attacks only.

Thanks. I figured it would be too good to be true.

However, I guess I will always have 40 increased damage which is not too bad because with my minions maim chance at 30% and mine at 40% the enemies will literally be maimed 100% of the time.
