F2P system, but how will they make their money?

Just started the beta and I have to say, I love this game! May even be my preferred choice over D3. The only thing im wondering about is how they are going to make their money with this game. From what I have seen so far they could easily sell this as a boxed game.

The f2p model makes PoE unique within the genre.

They have a few undisclosed investors(I'm guessing family or friends or something) and Chris and maybe few of the devs, have put their life savings into the game.

Fact: GGG has promised that it will sell cosmetic items for real money, that only affect appearance.
Fact: Many players are uncomfortable with the appearance of a bulky man or an old man in a dress, and would like pants. I think it's a brilliant scheme. |
