Splitting Stacks

Not sure if this is really a bug or a Dev choice; I am unable to split stacks while a Trade or Sell window is open.

I don't see the rationale behind this; the buyer/seller in a trade window have to mouse over the items and confirm, so if I split before putting in the window they still see the stack that was placed.

Hello there.
I believe the main reasoning behind that limitation is that by unstacking some items in inventory after having placed other items in the trade window, you could be in a situation where you become unable to cancel the trade anymore, cause of the lack of free inventory slots.
Coding an automatic restacking would prevent such situations, but GGG has tons of higher priorities.
