Fortify / melee / strike skills

Fortify just needs to be built into every single "strike" gem in the game, then other non strike gems as well. Get rid of the fucking gem requirement. It's stupid as shit. If you wanna get fortify on a bow then leave the gem for that, but if you run a "melee" skill you should get it from the gem itself. The other fix to melee is giving everything innate splash. Reddit can fuck off. There is no other fix to melee than giving it more aoe. Requiring one, or both of ancestral call and melee splash sucks fucking balls.Tribal fury doesn't fix it. Tribal fury is yet another "mandatory" thing for strike skills just like fortify is. PoE used to hate "mandatory" shit. Now it's full of it.

" 1) Fortify Support is melee only and cannot be used for bow users 2) Reddit has nothing to do with the discussion, why bring it up even? Relevance? 3) Fortify is a very strong effect (20% less damage from hits) and can be scaled up further, so just having it everywhere sounds redundant and stupid 4) If you don't want to use Fortify Support you can always a) vaal melee weapons b) use Vigilant Strike c) use Dread Banner and pop it when you need to tank shit Funny enough it's already built-in with Cleave thanks to the threshold jewel. Things to keep in mind before you post.. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

You forgot D) Just play a duelist and have permanent fortify (and throw in the belt for permanent onslaught from permanent fortify).

in short - strike skills are gimped on so many levels that it is no longer funny " 1. and how is that a good thing? Bow users can use champion or simply gtfo from danger. Fortify has < 40% damage multi, good jewels give significantly more 3. it is 'everywhere' and is 'redundant and stupid' right now already. any class and build can use this 'buff' - via movement skill, via Vigilant Strike, via Animated Guardian or via various other stuff like Champion. Fortify affects EVERYONE. it is by no means 'melee buff' 4. vaal melee weapons? wtf? Dread Banner? to get Fortify for how many milliseconds? are you for real? " ok. you are not for real. a) cleave is GARBAGE. it is pure crap skill with no use, no advantage, nothing. b) jewel.. you think that using a jewel to get Fortify is somehow a good deal? in 3.10 with cluster jewels? like.. i dont know what to say |

anyway heres my build thread:https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2803773 right so my credentials are within, definitely a partially gimped strike build hands down. but it works well enough after several buffs taken advantage of (thank you Crown of eyes buff) Look ok it's worth noting that as far as melee skills go there's actually three that are excluded from fortify and those are the triggered ones, one of which also happens to be a strike skill. Unsurprisingly enough it's one of the few strike skills you can find that isn't really over-gimped and is relatively on par with its second cousin vengeance an AoE, and that's riposte. My first thought after realizing i couldn't throw fortify into a veng/riposte 6 link for quick and dirty fortify outside of my clear ability: "fuck this shit i'm out". But on the topic of thoughts: i have never once thought about seeking a crafted weapon or socketing fortify support on my static strike and never want to. BONUS: even if i wanted to corrupt my staff for fortify staves don't GET that implicit, and even if we did could it even beat 18% attack block or the crit staff implicit???! a bunch of things jump out at you, implicit gambling, crafting, gem socketing, gem interaction restrictions, seeking vast quantities of other defensive stats, and endless conditional requirements to get them. At the end of the day competing with bow builds in any capacity whatsoever is pathetic but admirable, they run, you gotta leap slam cuz you're wearing death's door and your speed sucks (you are, i'm not, fuck that shit). so my most recent thoughts are thus: 1. new sources for fortify? 2. new sources for "knockback direction is reversed"! 3. better crafting! (strike skills target 1 addition enemy hunter glove mod is just as exclusive as "knockback direction is reversed", they both solely exist on gloves, and one is a legitimate unique modifier) 4. a setting to calibrate how closely to packs you get relative to your max weapon range to swing them with strike skills (so you can get in closer even with high range) 5. built in fortify with strike skills when you hit something within 3-4 range for 1.5 seconds (cooldown 1.5 seconds? no cooldown? could work like elusive ramp down?) 6. better and more intuitive targeting with strike skills against packs of monsters and in cases where target's died before they were swung at while other monster are nearby. 7. repurposing vigilant strike as an AoE bow attack that provides a 60% less effective fortify effect on up to three locations with a 6 second cooldown and 3 max cooldown charges stored, the gimmick will be the fortify effects from this ability stack together for up to 24% reduction from hits. edit. 8. just realizing the new vigilant strike should probably also give 6% attack speed stacks Last edited by ArcanicFlame#1719 on Apr 10, 2020, 6:14:47 AM

Longterm life Melee Strike Skill player here i 100% agree fortify needs to be built in into every Strike Skill gem.
" 1) Bow user can be Champion or use Hardned Scars to have Fortify thats no big deal why state false facts? 2) Reddit is the official forum. People voice their opinions on reddit more likely because in this forum its guaranteed that there is a trash talker coming here to dismiss valid feedback (see the quote as an example) 3) Fortify is bare minimum required to play melee. Why not play Miners, Summoners, Dotters (like Brand Archmage) builds with more damage on budget while being safe distance and/or being able to move while damaging enemy from distance? Fortify right now is just a burden for Melee that should be built into all Melee Strike Skills. 4) a) yeah we all gonna Vaal our valuable rare melee weapons which cost an arm or leg and hope for the 0.1% chance sure mate and lose implcit of weapon in the process. b) shit skill, are you even serious? c) Lol highly situanitonal skill that requires charges to use compared to 100% uptime Fortify Cleave is pure hot garbage why are you even bringing this one up? Cant be serious dude. I dont know what else to say about this ignorant bait post. Edit: Checked the profile of this dude. Troll confirmed plays Miners and Archmage support Dotter (Stormbrand). it certainly loves getting turbo with a HH from rare packs but this was the belt progression from my legion league crystal belt
to a darkness enthroned on standard after i bought those boots i'm wearing when i started playing again be4 delirium went live, but with the abyss jewel that's currently socketed in my passive tree and this in the passive tree instead before i figured out a way to work rallying cry in to generate rage and aggro for me (thanks medium cluster jewel) to this once i had worked up some currency after buying the boots for 26ex to get this for like 12ex as you'd expect right at about the stygian vise things got much easier, the cooldown works great as we have over a half dozen cooldowns in play most notably riposte, veng, storm call, and steelskin, the spell damage converts for fat 55% inc atk dmg, and the recovery probably works on the discipline watcher's eye mod "ES for each enemy hit", but the ES leech at the very least. i will say its a lot more tricky after they nerfed spirit offering which i was enjoying quite a bit there's a link to a stream i highlighted and those videos were without HH Last edited by ArcanicFlame#1719 on Apr 10, 2020, 8:59:17 AM
