I'm playing as a Witch

In order to link Spellslinger to your wand attack, I'm going to use my original situation.

Main Hand Wand - three links

DESECRATE - SPELLSLINGER - SPELL CASCADE SUPPORT


In order to trigger the spell Desecrate, Spellslinger must be turned on, so you have the spinning effect, your linked spell, "Desecrate" will also be greyed out and have the spinning icon. This will reserve mana.

Now, use your basic attack button, the one you get on the beach at the beginning of the game. This basic wand attack, will cause the linked spell, "DESECRATE" to execute.

If you die, you will have to reactivate the "SPELLSINGER" effect.

You attack with a wand > it casts desecrate while Spellslinger is active.

Spellslinger will support any skill gem it is linked with, IF you utilize one of the spells that have the "ATTACK" with Wand in their description.

This means that you can use the basic wand attack to trigger it, but it should be more effective if you use a spell such as Power Siphon, Barrage, etc.

Just look for the blue text that says it supports wand attacks.

This means however, you don't need that attack linked with SPELLSLINGER. If you have say, a Wand in the main hand with.

Desecrate - Spellslinger - Spell Cascade Support

you can use for example; POWER SIPHON in a completely different item, such as your boots.

Just using that spell, (my example) POWER SIPHON, and it will remotely trigger any SPELLSLINGER gems you have to ativate the spell they are linked to. triggering their effect.

I currently have 3 SPELLSLINGER gems in different link, which all trigger when I cast Power Siphon.

Barrage, Elemental Hit, Frenzy, Kinetic Blast, Kinetic Bolt, Power Siphon are attacks you can use with a wand.

Barrage, Elemental Hit, Frenzy, Kinetic Blast, Kinetic Bolt, Power Siphon are also attacks you can use with a wand.


These spells do have in their description, Attack with wand or Attack with Bow or Wand.

But you can use other spells with Spellslinger as long as you use a spell that triggers all the Spellslingers in your setup.

That is what causes it to work with Spellslinger.

Kinetic bolt is an attack, not spell...

What I really don't understand is the interaction when having two spellslingers for desecrate and volatile dead respectively.

When using barrage, both desecrate and volatile dead get cast in the one attack. When using Frenzy, this does not happen. From reading the description of the Barrage gem, it 'attacks repeatedly' which would explain why this happens. There are multiple attacks which in fact causes the volatile dead to be cast after desecrate eventually. But my understanding of Spellslinger is that both instances should be cast in a certain 'order' enabling both Volatile Dead and Desecrate to be cast in one attack regardless of the attack chosen. It should be noted that this occurred regardless of where I put the desecrate and volatile dead setups. I used desecrate in the chest and volatile dead in the helm and vica versa with the same results.
