Poet's Pen Trigger Issue

There currently is a bug with Poet's Pen.

The Spell socketed in the Poet's Pen does not trigger, if I press the attack Button while also holding down the "move only" button.

In detail:

I use Frenzy as an attack ( the issue also occures with every other attack)
I use desecrate with spell cascade as the spell inside poets pen.

If I stand still, dont press any button, and then press the attack once, it triggers desecrate.
If i stand still, dont press any button, and then hold down the attack, it continues to trigger desecrate.

Problem:

If i hold LMB or Q (that are the buttons i assigned "move only" to), and then press the attack once, then I attack, I continue walking, but the spell is not triggered.

If I do the same, but start holding down attack, my character stops moving and starts to attack continiously while also triggering the socketed descerate.

Why does it not trigger when I press it once?

I am having the same issues and can confirm Poet's Pen is bugged atm.

- Moving and Stopping to quickly attack does not proc any skill in the wand.
- If you stand still and attack it works.

Very easy to reproduce.

I suspect this is somehow related to spellslinger gem in the game. However spellslinger does not get affected by this bug and works just as intended (You can basically move stop for a sec and attack and it triggers)

Also first time reporting a bug. My bug reference number is : 3.415.244.692

I think it is related to animation canceling of the attack, since poet's pen triggers the spell at the end of the attack. Apparently ggg programmed it such that the end of the attack is the end of the animation. However it should trigger the spell at the same time as the projectiles of the attack are released.

Thanks for your report, Poet's Pen will only trigger spells when you FINISH your animation. Cancelling your animation will not cause the spell to trigger.
This change was made in 3.8.0, you can find the note here.
The link you provided actually states "Now triggers socketed spells at the end of an attack", not the end of the animation. I guess you introduced this change to avoid abuse by quickly canceling animations and therefor getting more triggers than your usual attack speed would allow. However, the current solution with end of the animation is together with animation canceling completely broken. In a hectic fight I will move a lot and try to doge enimies and thus canceling my trigger all the time. Especially in the current league we need to avoid all the on death explosions and homing missles, there must be a better solution to implement this.

The spell should be triggerd at the end of the attack, which is when the projectiles are released!
