Scaling uniques? Hear me out...

Hello exiles, just to preface this I always play melee in every game(arpg or standard rpg. Mama didnt raise no bitch!)
Anyway i was thinking while i was cycling through the 100+ uniques in my tab. Which 95% are useless. Would uniques scaling on different weapon types be a bad thing? Just using 2h axes off the top of my head a limb splitter scaling up on weapon types up to maybe a sundering axe? I'm kinda a newer player but it seems to me that melee hits a wall when they start mapping. At least I did. Due to dmg being tied to a weapon. Where when I leveled a sorc I just picked up a 5c tabula and had my core build doneish. Just a suggestion. If weapons were scaling naturally, you would less have the need to upgrade your gear, and there would then be less incentive to get better items so ... it seems to go a bit against the flow of the game.
There is the Onigoroshi unique sword that scales with levels and you have some weapons that scale with attributes too ( Brutus lead Sprinkler, Hands of wisdom an action ). Mages definitely have a much easier time than melees ( usually whatever the gear investment, but in some cases melee characters can kind of catch up after investing a lot in gear ) for sure, but it isn't just because of the gear ... there are inherent flaws to the melee playstyle in PoE unfortunately :(. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Sorry I didnt mean scaling with you as you level. I meant the base item scaling (potentially?) When it drops. Like if your running level 65+maps the base can scale that high when it drops.

That's an interesting idea then, if unique items drops without needing to pick a base from a pool of available choices, I guess it could be possible ?
Not sure however. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I'm cool with unique item bases scaling, but you'd have to rebalance all of the fated uniques that also do that.
PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

Wait, not one new unique item but all unique items scaling with the base ?
That would need quite some rebalance ... and it would make some leveling uniques just ... not very good for leveling anymore. Many unique items definitely have their "identity" based on the fact that the item base is low level for sure ... so there is that too.
