Chaos resistance penetration for spells.

Attacks have crafting mods for it why not spells?

With the increase of monsters chaos resistance I would think it is time spell casters also get chaos pen crafting mods.

Also spells deal massive damage just by gem levels no need for additional penetration whereas getting a 500odps weapon with crit is quiet a bit more expensive and way harder to get. Thats why weapons got a mod and spells dont.

no problem with that, however from mines to traps to minions to ascendancy class totaly ignoring reflect, I don t see how modern poe really fear reflect anyway.

Elem Weapons easily get 20% pen on tree without any effort, 30% with wasting nods. I do not think elem weapons really have trouble with penetration.

Chaos weapons do have problem with penetration for sure however this is mostly the case for 2handers and shield users. Dual wielders get like 20% chaos pen?

GGG could give a chaos pen on hit for spells so it exclude dots.

GGG has been ruinning their previous interesting design by trying to make everything the same, having chaos penetration to begin with was dumb honestly, they just lost the control of their balance and tried to make some things appeal by ... trampling their previous designs.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

This is what I was trying to say with my joke. I should have been able to guess that people would be willing to give up interesting benefits to remove interesting drawbacks in the name of equality of outcome, but I didn't, because I wasn't cynical enough.

Chaos resistance mechanics still haven't caught up with how radically different chaos damage works nowadays. It used to be that abnormal damage type that was rare and dangerous, hard to build for and thus rewarding to use. Remember how eons ago they gutted every unique item that gave chaos conversion? I think back to what they did to Voltaxic Rift/Consuming Dark and laugh my ass off comparing it to the amount of "added as chaos" mods people are using. It's a joke.

We have shitloads of chaos damage in the game going both ways now. We still can't gear for resistance worth dick. Oh, but bosses get resistance. And we get no penetration. Beyond "added as chaos" mods, which are just a free damage multiplier, why the hell would anyone use chaos damage over elemental?

We need chaos penetration, and resistances need to be easier to get. Chaos damage took over the game, there's no putting this genie back in the bottle, it's ruined already, just make it "another element."

yep, I understand why some are asking for chaos to stay "special" but it is not anymore.

Chaos pen on spell hit and not on dots would not break the game that much and the mods could be of fairly high cost (1ex?) With the max 3 mods crafted I do not think super op spell weapons could be made that way because there are a lot other mods spell casters need unless very lucky in drop.

As for chaos resistance we have divine flesh now .
