No Skill Book Reward Tarkleigh

hi. i unfortunately i have no precise data, as i kept on playing after the bug occured, but here is what happened:
i finished a quest and wanted my reward. when Tarkleigh offered it, i clicked on the skill book and placed it in my inventory, where it stayed for less than a second, flickered and disappeared.
This was a quest close to the end of act 1, the last quest where you can get a skill book

no, i surely did not, as then i would have gained the new passive skill, correct? because this was definitely not the case.
i saw the book in my inventory and after a split second it disappeared without any further action on my side

ok, here we go with a new bug: i just completed the quest through sacred ground, act 2, cruel.
i received a skill book from this girl merchant. when i right-clicked on it, the book disappeared and i did not gain a skill point.
i have a screenshot of the debug thing. how can i upload it?

I had the same/similar problem! I just completed Fetid Pool and killed the giant crab in the Submerged Passage. I received two skill books. I right clicked both books, but, I only received one skill point! I'm considering not playing any new characters until this is fixed.

Nevermind! Though I had two "books of skill," one offers me two 'passive respec points' and the other gives me 'one skill point'.

Maybe there should be a separate 'Book of Respecification' to avoid more confusion?

i mostly point my experiences out in this forum, to let you guys know of any bumps i see in the game. the "being at a loss" is of less interest to me.

Ok, so maybe, i should not have gained skill books in the first place. I can assure you, though, that the books each time said book of skill. there was a plus on them and i did not gain respect point, as far as i know (if i remember correctly from getting respect points the first time, you receive a message in the bottom left corner, saying you have gained respect points. this did not happen this time)

In any case, kepp up the good work. i have experienced very few bugs so far; a sign that you guys are doing a great job designing, producing and maintaining a fun game! thumbs up!

I also just experienced this... again. It has happened to me 3 times now on the same character. The only thing I have noticed is I had 1 point available from leveling up before I used the books. I used the book and it did not change to 2.

The first time I thought I was just tripping myself out because I though the book was for 2 points and I only got one. (piety's pets)

The second time was with a book with the = sign that has a line coming down. (1 passive and 2 respec) no passive, but I got the respec.

Just now it happened again with the "Marooned Mariner" quest, no point awarded.

As I said earlier this happened when I already had 1 unused skill point available. I am not very happy right now. I am at level 59 just finished the Marooned Mariner (Merciless) and have, according to my passive tree, used 76 skill points. Any way of checking the number of points I have used against the number of points that should have been used at this point?
