Table of real damage effectiveness?
|
I was wondering if anyone had calculated a table of real skill damage effectiveness.
What I mean is this - for skills like divine ire, they only have 30% damage effectiveness, but releasing at full stages gives 2000% more damage, so your effective damage addition for that release should be 600%. However, you can only release at full stages every so often, so you get about 600% effective damage every.. 2 seconds? Storm burst has only 25% damage effectiveness, but can hit 24 to 48 times to a single target per second in perfect conditions (large hit box, can stand there channeling), so realistic damage effectiveness is much higher, perhaps as high as 750% per second. Essentially, you could take nominal damage effectiveness x hits per second x more modifiers on the skill itself, so quantify a more realistic metric on how skills scale with added damage. Does that make sense, and has anyone compiled a table like that? Last edited by trixxar#2360 on Feb 7, 2020, 4:09:29 PM Last bumped on Feb 10, 2020, 1:14:58 AM

I've never seen one...but the bigger problem, is that Storm Burst hits in a randomized AoE, so unless the target occupies that entire AoE space, you're going to be fluctuating your actual damage a lot as some of the random bursts miss.
The second problem is stage & release skills (I'll use Blade Flurry because I'm familiar, but I imagine DI works similar). There is theoretical damage vs realistic damage. No human could frame-perfect release a skill like that every time then frame-perfect start the recharge. Even if they could, "good" ping is still 2-3 frames worth. Also, in most cases in the game, cast speed or attack speed play a factor too (AS with Blade Flurry), so that messes everything up, and even causes mid-frame calculations that get rounded. I'm not saying it's not possible to create some sort of spreadsheet and/or calculator (probably the latter, realistically)...but if no one has bothered doing it, I don't blame them. :D |

Thanks mate.
Its tempting to do, although PoB kinda does it, it doesnt really. Storm burst, for instance, gives damage per ball not total. Same as Molten Strike. |
