White sockets [ Vorici ]

Hello,

Wanted to ask since I was not sure how many white sockets you can actually do using Vorici since it says 1-3 but can this be used multiple times? I have seen items that are not corrupted having more than white sockets which is why I am asking.

You only get one shot to use the bench on a particular safehouse raid. To have a chance at 3 you need him at rank 3 as I recall, but even then it's still 1-3 and you might only get 1 or 2.

EDIT: I assume you could bring the same gear back on a second raid later (never tried), but the sockets are random so I assume a new white socket might just overwrite an old one. It would take pretty good luck to get 6 whites this way, but you also don't see many pieces with 6w. (EDIT: Can't actually do this...)

I also don't see a lot of extra value in 6w over 3. Yes, for a tabula is makes sense, but most gear is going to have only a couple of really viable options for super off-color socketing (if it has any options at all.) And 2-3 whites will allow for a LOT of room to maneuver if you do smart socket crafting (with your end in mind) on the bench before you run the raid.

Thanks for the answer, but in that case how there are 6 white socket items without corruption? :S

You cannot use it on an item with white sockets, so if you want to reroll the white sockets you must first use a chromatic.

Thanks. Then back to his question about how folks are getting 6 whites on a piece that is not corrupted.

EDIT: I just checked trade for kicks and there is actually nothing on offer with 6 whites that is uncorrupted...

@Thror2k5 can that be used on Uniques or normal > to rare?

cannot be used on uniques, because it has to go in a resonator. resonators only work on normal items and rare items.


what you can do, is use it on a base, scour, and then Chance+scour orb until you get your unique.
