sirus preventing map influence

I've progressed to "The Awakener of Worlds" quest which allows me to fight Sirus. I want to hold off on that and continue farming the remaining watchstones and general map stuff. If I skip the fight, will the conquerors start influencing the atlas again and allow me to get the last watchstones I need?

I'm sure this has been answered before but the only posts I can find are ones complaining about the last fight being difficult.

As long as you have a Sirus fight pending you can't procc influence. You either have to try out the fight or just open the portal and then leave again to skip it. However, I don't really see any point in doing that. Unless you risk losing lot's of xp in the mid 90s I would just give it a shot, nothing to lose there and at least a crappy helmet to win if you manage it.

On details, if you accept the quest so Zana spawns the portals for you, and then put another map in the machine, it will spawn over the Sirus portals and reset the Sirus state so you can start spawning conqueror influence again.

Thanks for the replies. I overlapped the Eye of the Storm portals and got Veritania to spawn after a few t15 maps
