Deadeye survivability

Hello, new player here/first season, playing a iceshot/barrage deadeye. How am i supposed to survive in these t16's, most of my deaths are from metas ofc, stuff like pulsing aoe that one shots me from a screen away. Problem with evasion characters is we have like a 75% chance to take no damage and 25% chance to get one shot. Feels really shit man. I would much rather take some big hits all the time that i could actually react too. Only chance i get to shoot is when i put my decoy totem down and i get 2-3 seconds to dps. This was working alright when i was in the t10-14 range but now my decoy gets one shot most of the time. If i stand still to shoot i die, if im running and dodging, there is no dps on the boss. Some metas literally non stop spam a projectile so i dont get a chance to stand still at all and have to go next. Looks like this game is really tuned towards being able to move and still dps like necro/cyclone. I even just tried running a 4l zombies with + life supp/meat shield/elemental army but they are pretty useless and get one shot too.
Also how are alot of deadeyes running chaos inoculation with like 200-300 ES? If they get sneezed on they die no?
So ya am i missing something? how did the top deadeyes make it too lvl 100. Just clearing trash no bosses? Any tips appreciated thank you.

I am not an expert for the class but i'd say you're not supposed to survive pretty much anything that hits you as a deadeye. Deadeyes are fast map cleaners but incredibly squishy, the commonly used advice: "Oneshot the monsters before they oneshot you." applies to deadeyes probably more than to any other class in the game.

To deal with Metamorphs that don't give you time to attack you could use Mirage Archer support on one of your skills, that allows you to move and attack at the same time.

Those CI Deadeye/Raider builds are usually made for Deep delves where you get 1 shot by everything anyway. So they go pure damage and rely entirely on Evasion/Dodge and Manual kiting to not get hit along with CI against Chaos dots.

Wow ok yeah makes sense, i recently dropped a bunch of damage to try and get about 5k life and i think i was doing much better before when i was more glass cannon. I would die just as often but atleast i cleared the map faster. Thought about mirage archer before but never gave it a shot, will do now. Very interesting about the delvers. Big thanks for the insight.
