Battle Mage (witch build)
So I'm playing around with a new witch build and I wouldn't mind getting some opinions on how affective it would be. Basically the build is a strength/intelligence mixed build. It has very high dual wand damage, high life, decent cold damage (for aoe), and should be good for power charges too. So anyways here is the build...
Battle Mage Build I plan to start the build slightly different than that so that I can reach the strength tree a little faster. I just think its not much fun if you have to play a normal mage for 50ish lvls before you can start being a battle mage. Of course the plan would be to eventually use a few orbs of regret to convert it back to the original plan. So the starter build goes something like this... Battle Mage Starter Build From there I'll build out the strength tree and occasionally add to the int tree as I need mana or whatever. So let me know what you all think, or what you would do differently or whatever. |

Too many points used, you can't really get to 111 points in the beta. Level 70 or so is the current reasonably reachable point.

I have been trying this build now for a while (about 35 lvls) and I agree that it is not much of a beta build and even once beta is over it will still be a very difficult build.
I do, however, think it could have its long term benefits for end game play since you do stay alive a little easier and you can use close range spells without too much fear of death. As for the build itself I have been considering a few small changes in order to get more shield and better utilize str/int armors that actually have blue slots rather than str armor which rarely does. What to expect if you try this build: - You will do lots of single target damage and save your mana only for when you get overwhelmed - You will need to use freezing pulse for aoe due to its high damage since you will gain very few spell damage modifiers (this is kind of fun since most witches don't use this due to its close range) - You will use mana potions like crazy. Be smart and cast while they are refilling for maximum usage. - You will be reliant on armor and weapon upgrades. Especially wand upgrades since they do most of your dmg. I'll post again when I know more for those of you who are daring enough to try the battle mage. |

Doesn't sem very battle-magey...
Of course I subscribe to the school of battmagery in which you're a nimble fighter relying on magically enhanced abilities and defenses... So the thought of a "Tank" battlemage doesn't mesh too well with me. (I want a beta invite SOOOO BAD) IGN - PlutoChthon, Talvathir
