does increase effect of shock boost Skitterbots shock damage?
like beacon of ruins?

No, the mod will affect your shocks but not your minions’ shocks. It would have to read “your minions have #% increased effect of shock” or something similar, and I don’t know if that mod anywhere in game. The same holds true for aura effect; the shocking/chilling auras belong to your minions, not you.

I can’t recall if there are any support gems that boost shock, but those should work at the cost of the mana multiplier being applied to your mana reservation.

however you can get the stat "% increased effect of non-damaging ailments on enemies", which you can benchcraft on a couple things, and also find an abundance of it on redeemer gear (amulet/rings/boots)

Again, though, these mods affect only you, not your Minions.
