Soulrend combined with CoC Poison, interesting concept needs help

I've played lot's of Chaos DoT Casters, written a guide about that stuff and planned to do a chaos dot poison dude ever since GGG scratched the non-ailment part of the non-ailment chaos damage over time multiplier.
My current chat is still pretty low budget but I'm hitting a wall in higher red maps now and I don't see small gear imrpovements fixing that, so now I need help saving this concept. Any idea is appreciated, no change is off-limits as long as it remains CoC Soulrend.

I've theorycrafted a lot before league start. Poisons have similiar scaling mechanics compared to chaos casters (wither, despair, chaos damage over time multiplier) and VERY different ones (attack speed, needing a lot of hits per second, crit scaling). Assassin has decent mechanics to bring the two together.
The idea is to simultaneously scale poison damage and the soulrend damage over time for high damage output. This results in a 6L-CoC-Poison-Setup with a "free" 5L Soulrend-DoT on top.
I've looked at every other skill but Cyclones hits per second make it the overachiever for CoC and for poisons. The classical poison attacks lack in attackspeed.
This generates Power charges, gives lots of poison damage and helps getting to 100% chance to poison on skills that have no natural chance to poison on the gem (which is all my skills).

Rest of the gear is pretty standard for life, ES and resis as well as a Solstice Vigil for the free Blasphemy Aura. I went for life-ES-hybrid using a timeless jewel for the corrupted soul keystone, which works nice.


I don't have much love for my current weapon choice but as a claw it helps with life recovery. I've considered picking a bow/two-hander with a cast on crit affix, but I don't see myself ever getting one with useful poison/cdot affixes on top.

I'm an assassin and consequently gain a lot of damage boosts from crits even though I do not invest into crit multiplier. Imo I do not have the Deadly Infusion Ascendancy (I miss out on +2% crit chance) and am stuck at 80% crit chance.
