how does perquils toe amulet work with totems

when i summon totems and they're in nearby range are they always lucky no matter where they attack or are they not lucky if theyre hitting mobs outside of nearby range? what if i move away from totems when placed nearby?

As I read it, you have to be nearby the totems for them to benefit.
The range of the totem's attack should not matter. ~ Please separate the PoE1 and PoE2 forums.
