item offers in poe are virtual. they're just advertisements. sellers do not need to sell for the advertised price.
it has the disadvantage of you not being 100% able to trade for the best offer advertised. it has several advantages, one is that trading bots cannot simply take the cheapest/best conversion rate or item price from the market because they don't know if they're real. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!
