Alt + Tab Disconnects since 3.9

Been playing poe for almost 7 years now and never had this problem before but lately alt-tabbing out of Fullscreen to check trade site or google, often results in PoE disconnecting.

Im playing on the same laptop Ive had for 5 years now and my hardware hasnt changed so Im wondering it's a new bug from 3.9.

Other threads have suggested RAM issues, but im on the same laptop.. so maybe 3.9 is just more demanding now? and its pushing my laptop over a threshold and forcing a DC whenever I alt+tab out??


I really dont want to have to play in fullscreen windowed mode because I already play at 17fps as it is... fullscreen windowed mode is going to make the game pretty unbearable.

Anyone else experiencing this lately? Anything I can do to fix it? because losing map portals sucks and DC'ing all the time is getting really annoying. Especially since so much of PoE requires me to switch to browser.

I have the same problem with the new league.

I played two weeks of blight and went well, alt-tabbed all time without problems.

Alt+tab dc was always a thing as i remember. Don't use fullscreen if you gonna switch tabs. As for memory, they will fix leak in 3-5 days.

As i understand (maybe wrong) Alt-tabbing with leak pretty much means game has to save everything into vitrual memory and emptyfy Ram... This is death sentence for your pc. Currently bug causes it to get extra 4-8 Gb Ram requirements in a few MINUTES. If there is less than 20 Gb free virtual memory, pc will choke unable to turn Ram into virtual. And the moment you tab back, game simply dies.
