Fury Valve and Soulrend interaction

Items seems completely useless for Soulrend, or the entire perk may be bugged at all.

Even in a huge mob pack, projectiles don't seem to split more than once when used with GMP after the initial mob is hit. If I understand correctly, they should split towards 5 targets with GMP alonee.

Either the AI of Soulrend has not been altered to work with the unique, or Fury Valve is completely busted and needs rework.
Sitting in HO spamming alts for 4 hours straight is peak PoE gameplay. Thanks, Chris.

Soulrends projectile always pierces, and that's why the projectile doesn't trigger the "splitting" effect, just as fork support.

But they do. I can sometimes see multiple Soulrend projectiles stacked one on another, flying in pretty much the same direction. It's as if the built in soulrend AI doesn't know what to do when all projectiles are fired from the same point (unlike with e.g. LMP or GMP).

Then it is just a bug if soulrend is indeed how you say splitting. The gem specifically states that projectile pierces all targets, So mechanically soulrend should never be able fork/chain/split. The interaction does not work based on the mechanics of the game
Snakepit is your friend. It will prevent soulrend from piercing, and will let it fork OR chain, depending on which finger you have it on.
